A treatment left me with severe facial burns. The doctors told me I was scarred for life.
I still remember catching my reflection and not recognising the face looking back at me. My mum cried when she saw me. I’d tried everything on the shelf and nothing felt gentle enough. That was the day I promised myself I would get myself back.

Today
It didn’t just change my skin, it took my confidence. My self-esteem hit rock bottom. I stopped attending events, made excuses not to see people, and stayed indoors so no one would see my face.
